Axia's answer to the espresso martini

Created in the nineties, the frothy freddo espresso has become a household beverage across Greece. Here, we muddle it with Axia for a flavour that is familiar but still exciting.

What you'll need

Ingredients

1 1/2oz Axia
3/4oz Coffee Liquer
3/4oz Espresso Coffee
1/4oz Simple Syrup
1 pinch salt
1 dash Cacao Bitters
1 dash Orange Bitters

STEP 1

Pour all the ingredients into a shaker filled with cubed ice and shake for 10 seconds.

STEP 2

Double fine strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with cubed ice or a chilled martini coupe.

STEP 3

Garnish: a piece of mastiha chocolate.

1/3oz Orange Curacao
3/4oz Fresh Lemon Juice
3/5oz Simple Syrup (1:1 Ratio)
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters (preferably Peychaud's)
A little egg white

Instructions

Shake all ingredients, strain into a short tumbler (...)

Stir ingredients with ice, strain into an old-fashioned glass, garnish with orange and lemon zest.
